American Board of Family Medicine

The mission of the American Board of Family Medicine is to improve the health of the public through board certification, establishment of standards for residency training, research that impacts the discipline, and leadership development for advancing the specialty. Currently, more than 90,000 family physicians are maintaining their board certification through ABFM, making it the third largest of 24 boards that make up the ABMS.
