Metriport is a healthcare interoperability solution that acts as a universal, open-source API for accessing, normalizing, and exchanging patient clinical data. It connects to disparate systems, such as electronic health records, health information exchanges (HIEs), and laboratories to collect fragmented medical records. It then standardizes, deduplicates, and translates that data (e.g. from C-CDA, PDFs, other formats) into a unified, structured format (such as FHIR) so clinicians and care teams can view a cohesive, longitudinal patient history. Clinically, this means that at the point of care, providers can more easily see a patient’s past diagnoses, medications, lab results, encounters, and other key health events without having to manually chase down records. This helps reduce gaps in information, avoid redundant testing, and supports safer, more informed clinical decision-making.
