Quinnipiac University Rural Family Medicine Residency Program

  • Booth: 311

The mission of the Quinnipiac University Rural Family Medicine Residency Program is to address health care inequities in rural areas, and we are committed to improving the health of our communities through direct patient care, community outreach, health professions education, and scholarly inquiry. As a 1-2 Urban-Rural program, residents begin the program within our large urban care hospital, St. Vincent’s Medical Center, in Bridgeport, CT. At St. Vincent’s, residents will gain high-touch and high-volume experience in inpatient medicine, obstetrics, emergency medicine, orthopedics and sports medicine, pediatrics, and behavioral health that will prepare them for their next two years of training and for the practice of rural medicine. Residents will complete their latter two years of training at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in rural northwest Connecticut. At Charlotte Hungerford, residents will receive the inpatient and ambulatory experience and training they need to learn the skills required to provide high-quality, full spectrum care in rural and underserved areas, including rotations in primary care, emergency medicine, inpatient medicine, obstetrics, and multispecialty care.
