Eisenhower Health

We’re delighted to welcome you to our community and invite you to spend some time on our website getting to know not only our program, but also our close-knit residency family and the stunning Southern California desert we’re proud to call home.
Nestled in the heart of the Coachella Valley—from the vibrant, cosmopolitan streets of Palm Springs to the historic shores of the Salton Sea—our program offers residents a truly diverse and enriching training experience. Here, you’ll care for patients from all walks of life, gaining experience across multiple settings: our state-of-the-art hospital, your continuity clinic, a local free clinic, a skilled nursing facility, and out in the community through our impactful Street Medicine program.
Eisenhower Health is the leading hospital system in the Coachella Valley, and our Family Medicine Residency stands out among community programs for our unwavering commitment to patient-centered, continuity-based care. You’ll manage your own panel of patients at the Eisenhower Center for Family Medicine—our modern, outpatient training site—and serve a primarily Spanish-speaking population through our strong partnership with Innercare, a federally qualified health center with multiple locations across the region. We are also one of the few programs in California with official Osteopathic Recognition, a point of great pride.
Residents benefit from specialized training in Women’s Health and procedures through our collaboration with Planned Parenthood, as well as the opportunity to rotate with our fellowship programs in Addiction Medicine, Geriatrics, Sports Medicine, Infectious Disease, and Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine. Electives such as procedural training through our Emergency Department and simulation center, HIV/LGBTQ+ Health, and Clinical Informatics offer residents the chance to explore their unique interests.
As the first Family Medicine Residency in the Coachella Valley, Eisenhower welcomed its inaugural class in 2013 and has since grown into a dynamic and well-established program. Our residents work closely with respected community partners including Volunteers In Medicine, Rios Clinica Medica Familiar in Indio, and the renowned Hazelden Betty Ford Center. We’re also proud of our educational affiliations with institutions such as the University of California-Riverside, California University of Science and Medicine, and Western University of Health Sciences—partnerships that further enrich our academic environment.
Outside of work, the desert offers an exceptional quality of life—yes, even in the summer! Whether your passions lie in hiking and outdoor adventures, art and culture, fine dining, shopping, or family-friendly fun, the Coachella Valley delivers. And for weekend getaways, you’re just a short drive from the beaches of San Diego, the mountains, downtown Los Angeles, or even Las Vegas.
We believe you’ll find something truly special here at Eisenhower Health. We hope you’ll take the next step and consider joining our vibrant, supportive, and inspiring residency family.
