Since 1977, the Family Medicine Residency Program based at Prisma Health Richland Hospital has taken pride in training more than 300 successful family physicians for South Carolina and the nation.
We partner closely with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine - Columbia to create an ideal "hybrid" training environment in a busy community hospital supported by academic resources. This provides access to specialized care, fellowship training, research / grants, professional development and more, not to mention teaching and mentorship opportunities working directly with medical students and other health professional students in our clinics and hospital.
