UAMS Family Medicine Rural Track Residency Program El Dorado
Our unique rural residency trains physicians to practice full-scope family medicine with obstetrics. With personalized learning plans, extensive electives, and strong community mentorship, you gain the practical experience to practice confidently in any setting.
Our residents gain the advantages of two training settings! PGY1 is spent with the UAMS College of Medicine’s Family Medicine Program in Little Rock, learning in a high-volume environment with specialist faculty, building a strong educational foundation before transitioning to El Dorado for PGY2-3. Once in El Dorado, you will get comprehensive, full-scope family medicine training with an emphasis on obstetrics in an unopposed environment. Physicians with this skill set are in great demand, and when you finish our program, you will be prepared to practice anywhere and become the doctor you want to be!
