University of Missouri Kansas City Family Medicine Residency Program
University Health is a two-hospital acute care health system which serves residents of Kansas City, Missouri and the communities of eastern Jackson County, Missouri.
University Health Lakewood Medical Center, located in eastern Jackson County, has continuously provided care for people with little or no insurance and the elderly since 1853. The health care center is home to the UMKC School of Medicine Community and Family Medicine Residency program. University Health Lakewood Medical Center is also responsible for management of the Jackson County Health Department. Core services include Community and Family Medicine clinics which provide access to primary care physicians for an extensive range of services, Centers of Excellence in Orthopedics, and Women’s Health Care. More than 15,000 patient visits are recorded annually for primary care providers.
