Iowa - Siouxland Medical Education Foundation
The Sioux City Family Medicine Residency Program is the only residency program in Northwest Iowa. It was established in cooperation with Sioux City's two hospitals and community physicians in 1975. The residency consists of three years of postgraduate study with an approved class of six residents each year. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and is affiliated with the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.
The community provides tertiary care for a large portion of a three-state region. Our faculty is made up of eight physicians and is enhanced by a volunteer faculty comprised of the entire Sioux City medical community. Also on staff are three behavioral scientists and two clinical pharmacists.
