The Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Family Medicine Residency Program is a three-year training program offering residents the full scope training and clinical experience necessary to comprehensively manage a population of patients throughout the lifespan.In our community-based program, residents will have hands on experience with directing care focused on prevention and master chronic disease management.

Because we serve patients from 18 counties across Northeast Georgia, family medicine residents will get a broad base training that will enable them to practice confidently in any setting, albeit rural, suburban, or internationally.
The Family Medicine Curriculum places emphasis on team-based learning and includes multidisciplinary rounding within our FMP and inpatient settings. We have comprehensive didactic program to supplement to hands on procedural training with responsive, life-like simulators. Our 22,000 SQ. foot state of the art FMP uses a “clinic first” approach that prioritizes consistent continuity clinics to maximize longitudinal learning.
