The Family Medicine Residency Program provides an educational experience that prepares residents to become competent family physicians capable of providing comprehensive and coordinated care to patients and families. The program’s educational experiences emphasize the competencies and skills needed to practice high quality family medicine within the community, utilizing a Patient Centered Medical Home model. Residents will gain valuable experiences in a broad range of specialties and community settings to enhance their knowledge, skills and competence within their family medicine practice. These experiences collectively will enable them to develop as members of healthcare teams in both inpatient and ambulatory settings and learn to become competent leaders in healthcare and practice.
Oak Hill Hospital (OHH) is a 280-bed acute care facility located in Brooksville, Florida. OHH is the largest hospital in Hernando County serving Brooksville, Spring Hill and neighboring Citrus County. It is known for its quality of care, focus on patient safety, and commitment to the most advanced technology. OHH is the primary sponsoring institution for the residency program and provides the inpatient medicine, critical care medicine, maternity and newborn care, general surgery, emergency medicine and multiple subspecialty experiences.
