As a resident at UAMS South Central, you care for patients from southeast Arkansas, a medically underserved region.  Some patients are from smaller hospitals and nursing homes nearby, including very ill elderly and patients with no regular medical care.  Residents rotate through private practices and Jefferson Regional Medical Center, our local hospital.  Rotations at Arkansas Children's Hospital are available as requirements and/or electives.  Residents rotate at local VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic and local/regional Health Departments.  Residents learn to perform numerous outpatient procedures and wound care.
