SIU Alton Family Medicine Residency Program
Our unopposed, 6-6-6 program received official approval by the ACGME in May 2020. The SIU Alton Family Medicine Residency Program is a collaborative effort involving partners not only at SIU School of Medicine, but also Alton Memorial Hospital and BJC Healthcare, Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation, SIUE School of Pharmacy, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and Washington University. SIU School of Medicine will academically administer the program which joins the other four Family Medicine residency programs in Carbondale, Decatur, Springfield, and Quincy, Illinois. The program’s newness brings unique opportunities for innovation and residents will provide major input into the program's development.
