Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center FMR
The Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center (NLEMMC) Family Medicine Residency Program is committed to preparing Family Physicians to practice in any setting: from rural critical access hospitals to tertiary care facilities; from an outpatient clinic with integrated behavioral health to an inpatient ICU; from the athletic field to labor and delivery; from a homeless shelter for teens to a patient’s own home. Our unopposed, community based, but medical school affiliated 10-10-10 program is the ideal setting for the resident who desires broad based training coupled with a focus on patient and family centered care. EMMC serves as the tertiary care hospital for the northern half of Maine and sees a wide array of pathology. We are ACGME accredited with osteopathic recognition and have an ONMM3 Residency and Palliative Fellowship.
We are located in beautiful Bangor, Maine; nestled between the rocky coast of Maine and the lakes, rivers and mountains of the North Maine woods. Recreational opportunities abound! The nearby University of Maine in Orono and many other venues bring an abundance of art and culture. Our affiliation with the University’s Athletic Department creates a great environment in which to learn Sports Medicine or simply enjoy some great hockey, football, or baseball
