Samaritan Health Services - Rural Training Program (Newport)
Our rural residency program is located in the coastal city of Newport ,Oregon. We provide training for the care of underserved and under resourced rural populations.
The first year is completed at the core program in Corvallis, Oregon. The second and third years are completed at our new community owned hospital in Newport overlooking the Pacific ocean and the bay. Subspecialties rotate to the coast from Corvallis. The proximity of the clinic to the hospital provided provides unique clinical and in patient care encounters. As the only residency in the hospital it provides a family medicine focused environment. Community involvement, leadership and evidence based care in rural areas is our goal. Competent, confident and compassionate care is our vision.
