McLeod Family Medicine Rural Residency is an unopposed program located at McLeod Health Cheraw and McLeod Health Clarendon. We are accredited for 12 residents at each site. Our programs care for patients in high-volume inpatient and outpatient settings with heavy emphasis on procedures including central lines, para & thoracentesis, endoscopy, and intubation. Both hospitals boast a new 6-bed open ICU. Residents in Cheraw use clinic first scheduling which allows for extended continuity in the clinic. Residents in Clarendon have rotations and clinic time using a modified clinic-first model. We offer maximum PTO, excellent benefits, moonlighting opportunities, and competitive salaries with rural housing and travel stipends up to an additional $15,000.
