Mercyhealth Family Medicine Residency Program–Rockford fosters innovation while incorporating traditional family medicine, minor surgeries, obstetrical/gynecological care, and pediatrics into a dynamic educational process. The primary goal of our program is to equip future family medicine practitioners with the knowledge, experience, and skills necessary to provide exemplary patient care while improving the health of individuals and communities.
Throughout training, residents will receive ample opportunities to refine their communication skills, apply evidence-based medicine, improve clinical outcomes through hands-on practice, and develop habits conducive to life-long learning and improvement in the field of family medicine. Mentorship and collaboration are critical component of our program. Residents will learn to practice as effective members of a healthcare system through multi-disciplinary, team-based care within inpatient and ambulatory settings.
