MercyOne North Iowa established the Family Medicine Residency program in 1974 as an unopposed community-based residency. The program has graduated more than 188 residents to date. Over the past twelve years, more than 85 percent of the graduates have chosen to practice in rural communities (one of the highest percentages in the nation).
