Since 1977, the Family Medicine Residency Program based at Prisma Health Richland Hospital has taken pride in training more than 300 successful family physicians for South Carolina and the nation.
Our graduates practice in all types of settings, including our outpatient family medicine clinic, the hospital, the home, the classroom, in long-term care facilities and on the athletic field. Our strong history provides an excellent foundation for preparing you for modern practice. We are fully committed to training family physicians in the Model of Care, outlined in the Future of Family Medicine report.
We are recognized as a Level III Patient-Centered Medical Home – the highest possible designation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
