Providence Hood River FMR Rural Training Program
Welcome to beautiful Hood River, Oregon located in heart of the Columbia River Gorge just one hour east of Portland. We are a 1-2 Rural Training Program with 2 residents per class and 6 residents’ total. Residents in the first year live in Portland and train alongside their cohorts from our Sister program, Providence Oregon Family Medicine Residency. We practice and teach full spectrum Family Medicine training in a stand-alone setting, centered within a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital and a Community and Migrant Health Center serving a large Spanish Speaking population. Our hope is that graduates end up practicing in small, rural communities and have the skills to care for a diverse patient population, maintain work-life balance and enjoy life-long learning.
