The Washington State Department of Corrections (WADOC) manages, cares for, and provides a variety of programs for more than 17,000 incarcerated men and women in the twelve Washington state correctional facilities. WADOC is known for a compassionate, progressive correctional culture, exemplified by one of the lowest rates of solitary confinement in the country and the diversity of high-quality programming it offers.
