The newly built (as of 2021) University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center is located in Largo, MD, a suburb of Washington D.C. It is a 205 bed acute care, teaching hospital with 32 state-of-the art intensive care unit beds, two cardiac catheterization labs, 1 electrophysiology lab, 2 endoscopy suites, interventional radiology lab, 8 operating suites — including dedicated ORs for trauma, obstetrics, cardiac surgery, and ortho as well as a hybrid OR — a 41 bay emergency department, and a special procedure unit. The Family Medicine Residency is housed in the Family Health & Wellness Center at a community site, only a 10 minute drive. This facility offers a full range of outpatient services to newborns, children, OB, adolescents, adults, and procedures.
