UPMC Altoona Family Physicians provides quality family medicine training for Central Pennsylvania and beyond. Our 8-8-8 residency program is the sole residency at UPMC Altoona and has received Osteopathic Recognition. Our residents learn full-spectrum family medicine with outstanding training in rural medicine from 15 full-time faculty. Our curriculum can be personalized through individual tracks and maximum elective time, and we work to ensure a good work-life balance for our residents. The Altoona area combines the activities of a small metropolitan area with the scenic beauty of a rural location and offers year-round outdoor recreational activities, cultural events, and a variety of excellent shopping and dining choices.
