The mission of Riverside/VCU Family Medicine is to provide quality, family-centered care with an emphasis on acute & chronic disease management, disease prevention & health maintenance, and patient education while training the best Family Physicians in the United States – not only for the present, but for the future. We have been accredited since 1971 and have graduated over 550 residents. Our program has a strong emphasis on "individualizing" the residents’ educational activities and learning experiences to prepare them as life-long learners in the challenging and rewarding practice of medicine.
