Seneca Family Medicine Residency is a rural program of Prisma Health and the University of South Carolina SOM-Greenville. We are dedicated to training competent, compassionate, future-oriented family physicians to practice sustainable full spectrum family medicine that improves the health of rural communities. We are actively implementing innovations in cognitive science into residency training in the form of a longitudinal interleaved curriculum, or LIRT. Our hospital, community, and health system constitute an incredibly robust learning environment in all curricular areas, and our Appalachian location provides opportunities to serve vulnerable populations and also enjoy the mountains, lakes, and rivers surrounding our small town.
